Saturday, 6 June 2026 marked a signature event: it was the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Friends of Wyperfeld, following their first campout on Show Day Weekend in 1976. On this page we reproduce a range of  historical and contemporary materials are testament to the enthusiasm, persistence and expert knowledge of the Friends.

The group was the second Friends group to be formally affiliated with the Victorian National Parks Association, after Friends of the Organ Pipes in 1972.
